EVGA has confirmed that all of its Geforce RTX3090graphics cards will be replaced following having been affected by the closed beta of Amazon. “Yesall 3090’s with failed chips are being replaced,” said a spokesperson to PC Gamer. Several gamers who tried the closed beta complained about their graphics cards getting bricked. EVGA RTX3090 cards were particularly affected.

Although the specific issue wasn’t known at the time, Amazon came out and claimed that there was nothing to do between the graphic card issues as well as the New World closed beta. Amazon claimed that thousands of players participated in the New World Closed Beta yesterday with millions of hours of gaming. There were also complaints of New World players experiencing hardware failures while playing.

Further, the statement stated that New World uses standard DirectX calls offered by Windows API. It also mentioned that there were no issues with the EVGA RX3090s during closed beta testing, or in the many months of alpha testing.

Amazon issued an update to all players, despite the fact that they claimed that there were no problems. Amazon confirmed that the New World Closed Beta was safe to play. “To further reassure players, I’m implementing a patch today which caps frames per second on my menu screen. We’re grateful for the support New World is receiving from players across the globe and will continue to listen to the feedback of players through Beta and beyond.”

For those experiencing issues, Amazon further added, “We believe that this issue is connected to the driver settings and frame rate limiters, Nvidia RTX 3090 series, and 100percent GPU utilization.” To alleviate the problem, gamers were advised to turn off overrides in driver settings and limit the maximum FPS to 60.

New World was originally supposed to begin its launch in August 2020 however, it was delayed due to multiple times. In order to make significant improvements, the date of launch was moved up to August 31. “We have been workinghard to create compelling features for the final game that we believe are important to include in the initial launch. The development team has stated that these features wouldn’t be available in the timeframe for Spring that we had specified.
